As with many good things in the Metaverse, I first learned about the Hypergrid Safari from MineThere Always. She and Virtual Christine always managed to find the new and cool people and places on OpenSim. Here is the report on my first Hypergrid Safari from the Kitely forums.
The tour was great. At least the small part I was on. The tour was led by Thirza Ember (who has a facebook page about it.) We met on OS grid at Ilha Magica. After introductions we went to Francogrid region called Avatar. There were at least 10 avatars standing around chatting in our area and even more elsewhere on the region. Despite the load, the grid was amazing stable. Most of the people there spoke french, but the translators did a good job which I was very thankful for as my french is rusty to say the least. The people were very friendly. We were able to get a copy of the (creative commons-licensed) avatars from the Fest’ Avi from a nearby wall. You can see the avatars here. http://the-hyperzette.blogspot.com/2014/06/impressions-from-first-festavi-2014-at.html They are gorgeous. I’m so looking forward to unpacking them and trying them on. The whole place is very beautiful and the visit was inspiring. Someday I would love to be able to make avatars like those.
After Francogrid/Avatar we went to OSgrid/Dutch Mountain for some shopping. I left to join the Kitely meeting.
I had a great time, met new people, got a half dozen fabulous avatars. What’s not to love about that? Thanks for mentioning the tour earlier in this thread, Miney, or I never would have known about it!
